Screenings and official functions take place in the stunning Teatro Amazonas, opera house built in 1896.
The festival receives much respect from the film community, with a great international selection. Viewers almost forget the poor quality of the sitting (century old chairs cannot beat multiplex chairs standards) and enjoy the moment in the amazing decor.

Closing with a wonderful day. great weather 34°c calm and limpid waters on the amzonas speedboat with 200Hhp took up up ther river two hours, for a visit in aanother state sanctuary where 500 families live in preserved conditions, with state help (schools...)

Another fantastic day has gone by at The 9th Amazonas Film Festival.
We have been transported by bus deepr in the amazonas, about 2 hours drive for a traditional amazonian breakfast (tapioca, fruit juices...) and a visit to a sanctuary, preserved area of a few square kilometers around a set of 3 waterfalls, where we bathed at length, fighting against an incredibly strong current.

November 6th a very relaxed and charismatic State Secretary of Culture talked to the press over coffee and champagne by the pool of the Caesar Business Hotel, the best in town of Manaus.
PHD Harvard MBA lawyer graduate described himself as apolitical, but passionate and fierce as a lion about Culture and the accomplishments he made towards handing cultue to the people.

Teddy Bear (short listed as Best discovery Award at the European Film Awards), was showing today at the prestigious Amazonas Theatre in Amazonas Film Festival (2/9 novembre).
