OIFF-2018 Industry Office winners have been announced
The FIPRESCI jury has awarded Ukrainian films, and the Film Industry Office have announced the winners within Pitching, Work in Progress and Odesa IFF ScriptEast Series Projects The winners of professional section were announced on the last day of Film Industry Office. Before the awarding ceremony, OIFF general producer Julia Sinkevych greeted all the participants and noted that the program of the previous four days was quite intense, but inspiring: “we hope that next year we will see these projects transformed”. President of the Independent Film Foundation and member of jury on Odesa IFF ScriptEast Series Projects Dariusz Jablonski said: “The professionalism of all the participants deserves absolute respect. I would like to highlight that Ukrainian projects were presented on a very high level”. And the winners are: The winner of the Pitching is Inconvenient Memory: dir.Igor Ivanko, prod. Igor Ivanko, Maria Ponomaryova, Volodymyr Tykhiy. OIFF granted the project got 60,000UAH. 10 projects took part in the competition, and another one presented as out of competition. Best projects in Work in Progress: Censor: dir. Peter Kerekes, prod.: Ivan Ostrakhovski, Yezhi Konechny, Denis Ivanov (prize: 2000 euros for flight tickets with the #1 airline in Ukraine, Ukraine International Airlines, general air carrier of OIFF); My quiet thoughts: dir. Antonio Lukic, prod. Alla Belaya, Dmytro Sukhanov. The project was awarded by WOG, main fuel partner of the festival. There were 11 projects in the competition, 1 was out of competition. The winner of Odesa IFF ScriptEast Series Projects is Family Archive, Croatia. Script: Marian Alchevskiy, Andamion Muratay. The team was granted a $20,000 package of postproduction services from Star Media company. Special award from Series Mania goes to Smokey Eyes, Poland by Malgozhata Pilachinska): personal invitation to 2019 Series Mania Writers Campus from Laurence Herszberg, the general director of Series Mania Festival and head of jury of the Odesa IFF ScriptEast Series Projects. Series Mania Writers Campus is a week-long writing workshop open to 20 European writers. It will take place in Lille in March 2019. The 20 selected writers will have the chance to be trained and mentored by experienced A-List writers (like Sarah Treem, Hagai Levi or Bryan Elsley...) and to meet the key industry decision-makers during the Series Mania professional Forum. The prize also includes the accommodation in Lille, with the participants covering the travel expenses. Finally, the FIPRESCI Jury has announced its winners. Delta directed by Oleksandr Techynskiy is the best Ukrainian full feature film, and Magnetic Storm by Igor Hanskiy was awarded as the best Ukrainian short film. The winners received diplomas from the FIPRESCI jury: Sergiy Vasyliev Jr., Robert Horton, Sanjin Pejkovic.
