The Mist will close Fantasporto

The Mist : STEPEHN KING AND FRANK DARABONT AT THE CLOSING SESSION OF FANTASPORTO 2008

The end of the 28th edition of the International Film Festival of Porto is expected to be great. On Saturday, March 8, the Grand Auditorium of Rivoli wears the "gala suit" again to close the festival of cinema in Portugal. From 21.30h the winners of the Fantasporto 2008 are announced. After that... it is time for cinema. After all we are here to serve the Seventh Art.

The closing film of the 28th Fantasporto is brought to us by a pair of recognized success - Frank Darabont and Stephen King.
After "The Shawshank Redemption" in 1994 and "The Green Mile" in 1999, Darabont and King return with "The Mist." In the main roles are Thomas Jane (the protagonist of "The Punisher"), and Marcia Gay Harden (who won an Oscar for Best Secondary Actress for "Pollock").
The city of Maine, in the United States of America is devastated by a violent storm. The next morning a dense fog installs. But that is not just an ordinary fog! As it surrounds the city, a group of people is trapped in the local grocery store. Among them are David Drayton and his 5 year old son. Soon people realize that many horrendous species reside within the fog, creatures that came through an inter-dimensional channel created by a military base. The world around these people quickly becomes a real hell, while they desperately try to survive this apocalyptic disaster.
