This year's selection, based on around 1200 films from 68 countries around the world and submitted to the Festival, ended after the selection carried out by fantasporto, which screened films from countries as diverse as Japan, with 11 films (country with the most significant number of films in competition, Argentina, Brazil, South Korea, China, Philippines, Iran, Mexico, India, United States, Estonia, Hungary, Canada, Kazakhstan, and the most diverse European countries, highlighting France and Spain with 6 films each, included 97, all of them unreleased in Portugal, and these were shown in the World Premiere. Some international media titles present on Fantasporto make the quality and diversity of the selected films clear. The largest magazine in the Entertainment World, Variety, in articles published during the festival, refers to “Fantasporto Presents Eclectic Lineup Ranging From Denys Arcand's Satire 'Testament' to Wuershan's Fantasy Epic 'Creation of Gods'nbsp;or in another article “Fantasporto Chiefs Beatriz Pacheco Pereira and Mário Dorminsky on Spotting Rising Talent in the World of Fantasy”, in turn Euronews headlines “Horror, humour, music and more: Is Fantasporto the ultimate film festival?nbsp;nbsp; And many others thatnbsp;nbsp;already were compiled halfway through the festival and can be found on the Facebook page @fantasporto. There is also coverage work for a large part of the national media such as Expresso, Jornal de Notícias, Correio da Manhã, RTP, SIC, Antena 1, etc. It is also important to mention the approximately 120 foreign guestsnbsp; (about half of them Asian...) and more than 100 nationalsnbsp; who are still in Porto to witness the official closing session and awards ceremony on the 9th, today, it will take place, were at Fantasporto, including members of the International juries. The diversity of films awarded in the different sections demonstrates the quality of the selection and the need for jurors to distribute their awards across the most diverse films in the competition. It should be noted that almost all of the films presented were applauded at the end of the sessions and that some of them had applause for more than 5 minutes, especially those whose directors were present in the room.
