Fantasporto Calling For Entries1 - The TWENTIETH NINE edition of the OPORTO INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL - FANTASPORTO 2009 will take place from 20th February till 1st of March 2 - The Festival main purpose is the screening and promotion films of quality, both aesthetically and thematically, and to seek new forms and methods of filmmaking. 3 - The Festival has eight sections 3.1 - Official Section - Competition for Fantasy Films - feature and short films (maximum 15 minutes length) including the Méliès d'Argent Award for the Best European Fantasy Film- European feature and short films 3.2. - Directors Week - Competition for Feature Films (no thematic strings attached) 3.3. - Orient Express Official Section (for Asiatic feature films)Non- Competitive 3.4. - Panorama & Première 3.5. - Anima-te (Animation Features and shorts) 3.6. - Panorama of Portuguese films 3.7. - Porto in Shorts 3.7. - Retrospectives
5 - The participating producers, directors and sales agents may present short or full-length films under the following conditions: 6 - THE ENTRY FORM CAN BE FOUND IN THE INTERNET at the festival's site, then downloaded, filled in and sent by fax or mail TO THE ORGANIZING COMMITTEE TILL THE 1st DECEMBER and the Screener till the 15th December 2008. 7 - To submit a film to selection, the producer must send an entry form accompanied by the following materials: 8 - If the film is selected, the following documentation should be sent as soon as possible:
8.2 For Promotion 9 - THE PRINTS OF THE FILMS SHOULD BE IN POSSESSION OF THE ORGANIZING COMMITTEE ON THE 15th FEBRUARY 2009 (deadline if entering for any of the Competitive Sections) 9.1 - The 35mm prints must be send through DHL (account number to be informed by the festival) directly to: FANTASPORTO 9.2 - The transport expenses of the prints of the feature films run on account of the festival, except when returned to another Film Festival per request of the producer of the film. Concerning the short films the prints must be sent on account of the producers/directors. The festival will pay for their return. 9.3 - The Organizers will bear the expenses for the storage and insurance of the prints. 9.4 - The Festival insurance coverage includes: All risks: theft or fire; loss or disappearance; total or partial damage. The insurance company covers for all sections of the festival, whatever the nature of the material such as: *format 35mm; *negative: Black and White or color; *length: short or long; *subject: fiction, animation; *support: film, videotape, videocassette. 10 - A committee appointed by the Organizers will select the films submitted to the Competitive Sections of the Festival. 11 - The Organizers will nominate three International Juries. 12 - The International Jury of the Official Section for Fantasy Films will grant the following awards: 13 - The International Jury of the Directors Week will grant the following awards:
14 - The International Jury of the Orient Express official section will grant the following awards: 15 - The Organizing Committee will decide on all matters not provided in these regulations, in compliance with the application of the International Regulations for festivals. Difficulties encountered by a worker
Made with utmost care and with consideration of all pros and cons of an ordinary worker falls under wrong hands when he landed in the airport, and had been rescued by workers travelling throughout country, day in day out.
