Fantasporto 2021 Jury members announcedOFFICIAL COMPETITIVE FANTASY SECTION JURY MEMBERS CHRISTIAN HALLMAN (director - Sweden) Christian Hallman is an award-winning director-writer/producer from Sweden. Experienced in working with feature films, TV Series, Commercials, Music Promos and Corporate films in both development, production and post-production. He has also worked extensively as a 1st AD for. many years. Besides being a filmmaker, Christian has an extensive background working with genre film festivals for more than 20 years; as a program director/ programmer, festival producer and organizer and also as a film festival consultant and working on film festival strategies for other filmmakers. He was the coordinator for the European Fantastic Film Festivals Federation from 2003-2015 an organisation he also helped to build up. He won the Audience Award at Fantasporto 2016 with “Sensoria”. Christian is currently in development of various feature films and TV series.
SANTIAGO DELLAPE (director - Brazil) Santiago Dellape has a BA degree in Filmmaking and Journalism programs from University of Brasília (UnB), where he's now attending MFA in Theatre. He also attended Directing classes from UCLA Summer Sessions 2019. Dellape directed, wrote and produced the feature "Punch the Clock" (2016), awarded at the 37th Fantasporto, the Christmas TV movie "Santa's Half Day-Off", screened in over 70 countries by Globo International, and six short films, among the most noticed "Nada Consta" and "Ratão", awarded in Brasília and Gramado film festivals, in Brazil.
Mika Helminen (film critic – Finland ) Born in Finland, Mika Helminem is a film buff and a journalist for the film website Elitisti for over 15 years. He is passionate about Portuguese Culture and History. He is a frequent visitor guest and reporter of Fantasporto since 2011.

DIRECTOR´S WEEK JURY
ATE DE JONG (director . Netherlands) Ate de Jong was born in 1953 in a small Dutch village near the Belgian border. He studied at the Filmacademy of Amsterdam, having entered this prestigious school at 17. After graduation. he directed 6 feature films in The Netherlands before moving to Hollywood. His first directing assignment was an episode of Miami Vice (starring Don Johnson, Philip Michael Thomas, James Brown and Chris Rock) His US features include: Highway to Hell (starring Chad Lowe, Kristy Swanson, and Ben Stiller) and Drop Dead Fred (starring Rik Mayall, Phoebe Cates, Carrie Fisher, Marsha Mason and Bridget Fonda). He made a comedy radio show for NPR broadcasted nationwide in the USA. Following his American years, he subsequently lived twelve years in London, alternating with two years in Germany and half a year in South-Africa. He directed or produced international feature films in all these countries, as well as his native The Netherlands. Living in London, he directed All Men Are Mortal (starring Stephen Rea, Irene Jacob, Chiara Mastroianni) based on the book of Simone de Beauvoir and the thriller Fogbound (starring Luke Perry). He produced international pictures Left Luggage (Isabella Rossellini, Maximilian Schell) and The Discovery of Heaven (Stephen Fry) and Enigma (Kate Winslet – co-produced with Mick Jagger). He recently made Deadly Virtues: Love. Honour. Obey with Raindance, and Love Is Thicker Than Water starring Johnny Flynn, Lydia Wilson, Juliet Stevenson and Henry Goodman. Most of his films have been screened in Fantasporto. He received the Career Award of the festival in 2017. Ate de Jong also wrote a book with party games for children.
CASHELL HORGAN (director – Ireland ) Cashell Horgan, a writer and a director, lives in Ireland and is a multi-award-winning filmmaker and artist. Director at Made Image Films, producing live-action and animation content. With over 20 years in the media industry, he has worked as a television editor, director, and animator. He has taught animation and film at the European School of Animation and the National Film Television School Ireland. Cashell Horgan regularly serves on juries at International film festivals and his work has featured in several publications. Fantasporto introduced him in Portugal in 2015 with “The Clockmaker’s Dream” which came to win 22 international awards. He was also awarded at the Boston Science Fiction Film Festival, at the WorldFest Houston and the Galway Film festival, among others. He participated as na animator in the feature “Fantasporto 40 Anos” by Isabel Pina (2020).
RICARDO FIGUEIRA (journalist, Euronews) Ricardo Figueira was born in Lisbon in 1975 and lives since 2003 in Lyon (France) where he works at the pan-European TV Channel Euronews. He had entered previously Euronews between 1999 and 2001, leaving then to work at RTP and returning later. As a reporter he made extensive reports of Fantasporto, the first in 2007, being a yearly visitor since 2010. As a photographer, he participated in exhibitions in several countries. He is co-writer and co-director of the short “Motorphobia” with Isabel Pina, screened in the 2016 edition of the festival. He was given the Fantasporto Award in 2015 for relevant services to the festival.

PORTUGUESE FILM AWARD JURY MEMBERS DANYEL GUERRA (Journalist and writer) Danyel Guerra, a writer and historian, was born in Rio de Janeiro, in November, a Scorpion. He has a degree in History by the Faculty of Arts of the University of Oporto. Dedicated to the History of Cinema, he studied “Cinema and Intervention” at the Faculty of Psychology and Educational Sciences (University of Porto) and “Comparative Approach to the French Nouvelle Vague” at the Alliance Française Porto. As a journalist he wrote at the following daily newspapers: Notícias da Tarde, Jornal de Notícias and Correio da Manhã. He has articles published in the Athena, eSTUPIDa, InComunidade magazines. He integrated the juries of several film festivals and is a regular member of the jury of the Portuguese Cinema Award in Fantasporto. Two of his books have film as a subject: Oito e demy (2014) e O Português do Cinemoda (2015).
LUÍS MOYA (director) Born in 1985. Independent director, producer and screenwriter, works regularly as a reporter/cinematographer for the Porto Canal TV channel. Graduated in Cine-video by the Escola das Artes do Porto and the Sint-Lukas Art School in Brussels (Belgium). Winner of the Best Portuguese Film Award in Fantasporto 2013 with the documentary “Mia Mia Sudan Tamam Tamam” and of the Audience Award in 2020 with the documentary “Por Detrás da Moeda”, among others, both on film and television. He works with several national and international production companies.
