Droomkind (Dream Boy) theatrical trailer

This is the trailer of the 45 minutes fictional film Droomkind (Dream Boy).

Dream Boy was made with the typical (international) film festival visitor in mind. The entire movie contains only two short lines of dialog. The soundtrack of this film (NOT the trailer's) is fully 5.1 surround with only custom recorded sound. The music is also specifically composed for it. Probably the most peculiar detail is that the entire movie was shot with a Canon Powershot G9 camera. Shooting took place in Summer 2008, before the Canon 5D mkII even existed. It took until 2010 before all technical issues (think 15fps Motion-JPEG 4:3 @ 1024x768 into 25fps Prores 4444 @ 1920x1440!) could be dealt with for final editing, color grading and re-graining.

Dream Boy premiered at the largest national filmfestival in the Netherlands in September 2010 as part of the official selection. It was very well received by the audience, which was extremely thoughtful during the entire show. Even mature men swallowing their tears at some points were spotted.

Read more about Dream Boy here: droomkind.com/uk. There is extensive info about both the productional aspects as well as the technical aspects of Dream Boy on that website. Please come back here if you want to comment. Thanks for watching.
