Set in Bison's wildlife area of Podlasie (it is not a joke). It is winter festival, it is pretty cold here, but we are the polish vodka capitol. 9000 festival-goers every year can confirm it.
Screenings are in art-house cinema running ourselves (450 seats) and local clubs, galleries and regional town around. Podlasie is one of the wildness and the most beautiful part of Poland. Our city doesn't has an airport, cause the new one is in progress. Bialystok is easilly accessible from Warsaw (where are two airports: Okecie - regular and charter flights and Modlin - low-cost airlines. From main station running daily around 14 trains and more buses to Bialystok what takes approx. 2 hours) and Kaunas in Lithuania (by bus approx. 3 hours)
Every year, instead of competitive 3 section (national, international and post-soviet competition called Window to the East) we do focuses on a regions. Total amount of awards is 15 000 EURO. Grand Prix is 2 000 EURO.

"The Martini Effect" by Dawn Westlake has received an early acceptance from FerFilm Festival in Ferizaj, Kosovo for July 2014. Shot & edited by Brandon Bondehagen on Canon's C300, the film was scored by Alvarez-sponsored guitarist Gregory Johnson of Acoustic Labs. Gothenburg Independent Film Festival is a new upcoming festival for independent film makers arranged by the NGO Film För Fred (film for peace). The festival aspires to acknowledge and inform about the urgent social, environmental and political issues of the world. Using film to approach these questions in artistic and creative ways, we wish to create a common space where organisations, filmmakers and audience from different countries can meet to discuss and cooperate for future projects.

Showcasing a selection of the best short films from both local and national filmmaking talent, the Plymouth film festival is a chance to come and watch some amazing short films, and for filmmakers to showcase their work and be rewarded and recognised for it. The Box is coming!
In 2014, Out the Box is giving local filmmakers the chance to shine on the grandest stage around.
The Box Short Film Competition is here to inspire you to write, create, and compete for space on the big screen and achieve your maximum potential. With judging by industry pros, and awards for the best in their class, this competition promises to be a hugely exciting event.
All shortlisted films will be presented at the Box Film Festival in Newbury, launched to celebrate local filmmaking talent and to provide the opportunity for you to meet and network with your creative peers. The Out the Box Performance Group is dedicated to connecting writers, directors, shooters and actors, in order to help and encourage people to fulfil their creative dreams.
So, if you love film, seize your chance to enter the competition before the closing date 31st Jan 2014. Your film must be an original piece between 3 and 15 minutes long, and have been completed within the last year. Entrants should be lcoated within a 20 mile radius of Newbury, Berkshire, UK.
Whether you work in film for a living, or do it just for fun, this is a fantastic opportunity to get your work seen by the wider community. We are looking for individual style, fine writing and great execution. Whatever the genre - comedy, tragedy or horror – we want to see it!
