The Accolade Global Film Competition is unique in the industry. Attracting both powerhouse companies as well as talented new filmmakers it is an exceptional, truly international awards competition, not a traditional film festival – which allows filmmakers from around the world to enter their films in this prestigious competition.
Established in 2003, Accolade Global Film Competition is an avant-garde worldwide competition that strives to give talented directors, producers, actors, creative teams and new media creators the positive exposure they deserve. It discovers and honors the achievements of filmmakers who produce high quality shorts and new media. The Accolade promotes award winners through press releases to over 40,000 filmmakers, industry contacts and additional international media/distribution outlets.
Our talented award winners have gone on to win Oscars, Emmys, Tellys and other awards.
MovieMaker Magazine included The Accolade among the Top 25 Festivals “Worth the Entry Fee.” The article said, “Past participants can’t stop raving about the professional opportunities participation in this event has generated for their work.”
Go to https://accoladecompetition.org/ for rules and entry form.

Valpolicella Film Festival is a short film and script festival based in Verona, Northern Italy, this year taking place from the 23rd to the 27th of November.
Celebrating the powerful relationship between word and image, we focused our festival on fiction. Moreover, our competition is open to film-makers and scriptwriters - deadline on the 31st of July.
Many of our main events promote international cooperation with other film festivals, our beautiful landscape as a perfect location for movies and young boys and girls creativity.
Famous for its vineyards, Valpolicella also offers a perfect environment for talking about the movies you've just seen, tasting a delightful glass of wine.

“The mission of Beaune International Thriller Film Festival is to
underline the thriller genre, which is after all one of the most
fertile and noble in cinema history, and precisely to try and find new
tendencies, or suggest new directions.”
Claude Chabrol
«La vocation du Festival International du Film Policier de Beaune est à la fois de mettre en exergue le genre policier, qui est quand même un des plus vus et des plus nobles du cinéma, et d’essayer justement de voir des tendances, de suggérer des directions» Claude Chabrol
Chaque année, Le Festival International du Film Policier de Beaune rendra hommage à une ville pour son influence et sa dimension mythologique au sein du genre policier.

purgatory / noun / an intermediate place or state of temporary suffering for expiatory purification
Within the word “purgatory”, it is easy to envision condemned souls, torment and darkness. However, purgatory may also reflect the cyclic state in which we often rediscover or recreate ourselves anew from within our personal inflictions. Sometimes it is the necessary stage to exorcise ourselves from the haunting ghosts of the past. Perhaps it is the serene place of self reflection and realization.
From within this, the producers of the DAMNED exhibition of fine dark art present a new exhibition of cinema and theatre called Purgatory. Held near halfway to DAMNED and Devil’s Night on May 20-22 2010 in Detroit, Purgatory will present approximately 30 short films of deeply introspective, beautifully disturbing and darkly enlightening subject matters from filmmakers worldwide. This is not an industry-focused horror film festival, but a tributary showcase of the often redemptive films from the filmmaker’s personal damnations complimented with live experimental performance art on stage during intermissions.

Montreal's Concordia University is filled with creative, ambitious and radical young artists and academics. The Students of Philosophy Association, SoPhiA, is reaching out to this rich and varied community with their first Film Festival. Over the course of four days, the festival organizers aim to screen at least twelve outstanding films from around the world:
"We are looking for short films of all kinds (shorts, fiction,
documentary, and everything in between) to be shown at the
festival, titled "Four Days of Therapy for the Population". It is a festival
which should be the basis for questioning the human condition. We want
to create a place where questions are posed, and discussion blooms.
The major themes are centered around relational human experience: in
relation to oneself, (identity), to others, and finally in relation to
the objective world."
Any and all submissions will be considered (French or English)
Audience votes for their favourite of the fest!
