On December 12th, Bahamas International Film Festival (BIFF) will be saluting Arthur C Rolle of Governor's Harbour in Eleuthera who had the foresight to establish the original Parade Theatre in 1965 located across from the ball park in Governor's Harbour. "Rarely do I meet a gentleman like Mr. Rolle, charming, regal, with such a kind soul, resembling Hollywood's best, such as Harry Belafonte or Sidney Poitier. Mr. Rolle single-handedly operates the only movie theater in Eleuth...

LUST (Al Shooq) is an Egyptian film set in Egypt's second city, Alexandria, on the Mediterranean.
However the part of the city we see is no tourist dream -- but a poverty stricken warren of side streets where the central figure, Umm Shooq, a charismatic possessed lady, and her two mod daughters live. When her youngest son falls seriously ill with a kidney condition and needs dialysis treatment --very expensive -- she is forced to beg on the streets to raise the money. When she...

Director: HORACI GARCIA, ORIOL FAURA Y JAVIER URTASUN.
SUPERZEBRAMAN, a documentary about how to make the first Spanish Nigerian production of the history without having a clue. The scene: Nollywood, the Nigerian film industry that produces the largest number of films in the world, over the powerful Hollywood and Bollywood industries. A concept of the cinema in which the movies are rolled in two weeks and for less than 20.000 dollars, accessibly a priori and which Javier Urtasun believed attainable. The thing is that this special look to the seventh art definitively is a world full of possibilities, or at least this was what Javier Urtasun thought.
Born in agreement to the requirements of script of the Nigerian industry, SUPERZEBRAMAN (The movie) counts the history of a man who changes the color of his skin thanks to the power of the zebras. An ambiguous starting point that constitutes the first step of a way riddled with anecdotes gathered in this delirious documentary.
Probably after seeing the documentary we will understand why this first Spanish Nigerian film was never done before: it is necessary to have testicles. Great ode to life and to the dreams that it we should never stop fulfilling, in SUPERZEBRAMAN (The Documentary) you realize that though the producer is drunk and the director does not appear, the important thing is to know that the perimeter is defended by a good number of AK47.

While Hollywood films are the last thing on the minds of the Japanese people as they confront the most challenging period in their modern history since the end of World War II, the effect and response from the US entertainment industry has been swift. Piotr Herroll’s family had to leave Nacrovia and now lives in exile in Santiago de Chile. Young Piotr is sent to find work. A friend points him out that the Chilean State supports artists; so, he comes up with a play about the story of his unknown country. This carries several problems: he must have Chilean actors, who are less concerned about the meaning of his work. Also, his citizenship credentials are not very reliable. And the language barrier will result in a series of mix ups that will end altering the play. The film is spoken in a made up language, Nacrovese. The continuing use of subtitles is incorporated into the plot games, making Piotr Herroll a unpredictable hero and turning the film into a sharp comedy about the essence of the Chilean self.
