“Arsenals” film marathon – at the finishing line
A festive “Arsenals” closing ceremony took place in the great hall of cinema “Riga” on Saturday, September 20, 2008. During the ceremony many winners were announced – those of the juries’ awards, the lucky film viewer, whom Airbaltic will take on a trip to Venice next autumn, the winner of the main festival award (20000 US dollars), as well as many special prize winners.

The East End Film Festival came to a close last week with an awards ceremony at Dalston’s Rio Cinema hosted by Perrier-winning comedians Noble & Silver. 8 days, 10 venues, over 20 feature films, countless short films, plus the panel sessions, networking, parties, and gigs by bands such as Youthmovies, Kitty Daisy & Lewis, Spork, The Caesareans, and more – it was a full-on week, but was a massive success all round. Today the winners of the 9th Stockholm International Film Festival Junior were presented. The Bronze Horse for Best Film went to the Estonian drama The Class by Ilmar Raag.
