Romaniticism: Closing the Ring
I must be an unfortunate romantic; I loved this film and its' depiction of the travesties of the human heart. From a moment of unfortunate disregard for life and love to the moment of profound atonement and freedom, this film explores and discovers the insecurities of our human heart tortured by our minds misconceptions.
Confused? I was until I realized the profound and horrific depth of this tale of deception and remorse. The potential of love and its' devotion unleashes a series of events that destroy old and young hearts across the ages and around the world. This is a message to all those who question the value of love in life. Never stop loving! Don't think about love, live it!
The actors were all wonderful. I have grown up watching Shirley MacLaine on screen and here see her in the person of Mischa Barton (a young woman in love)to an older woman who lost her love (not today at her husbands funeral, but a life ago in a time of war). The film also reminds us here of the world at war - then and now - nothing has changed but the lives of those at battle.
Go see this film, maybe not as a film goer looking for a fix, but as an individual willing to have your heart strings pulled and untied - stretched and snapped. Then realize you have a choice - we all do. See the passion and love, devotion and deception. The power of love in life and the commitments made in love must be revisited, renewed and 'realized' again and again.
This film might allow you to 'discover' the love of your life.
