Film reviews:
Susan Everett (United Kingdom) has been fascinated with adoption, being an adopted child herself. “Mother Mine” explores the reunion process between daughter and birth mother gone horribly wrong. Everett’s central character, Alison, is arguably the most complex character presented in the festival. Everett is also a trained illustrator, making “Mother Mine” an impressive visual. - Nevada Sagebrush The consequences are unexpected to say the least. A convincingly performed and well-paced short thriller which slowly builds up to its final revelation. Masterfully done. - Bradford International Film Festival There was unanimous praise for the Hitchcockian twist in the tale about a young woman, apparently adopted at birth, seeking her birth mother. The judges unanimously admired the tempo of the story-telling and the new light that the surprise ending shed on earlier parts of the plot. - Shine Award Jury statement
