The Corpse must die

user
Director: Jozef Pasteka.
Story The main characters of this contemporary comedy are connected to each other by their profession and family ties. University professor and a translator of Dante, Kryštof Mitrovský, his wife of 20 years, Naďa, and her brother, twice-divorced university rector Alexander Pažický who can find a solution in any situation. Krištof is a believer in the Taoist passivity; he rejects his brother-in-law’s careerism and suffers from narcolepsy. However, in the presence of women he wakes up miraculously. Just like in a centaur, he struggles with the conflict between the head of a human and the body of a beast, between morality and human passion. “God, when will you bless me with impotence, it will end the suffering…” sighs Miro Noga playing the role of Krištof. The story starts with a scene of infidelity: Naďa catches her husband “consulting” with his student Silvia who suffers from nymphomania. Deeply upset, Naďa visits her lawyer friend and files for divorce. Later at a gas station, she runs into a man who insults her. Anger against the entire male race bursts forth and Naďa kicks the man with all her might in his butt. The man follows her home. Scared to death in the scary darkness of her building, Naďa hits the man and he falls to the ground, motionless. This unlucky incident starts a series of other unexpected events…

Bastian at Roskilde - for the First Time

Director: Asger Lindgaard.
Bastian goes alone to the Roskilde Music Festival full of hope, in order to live out the festival dream: Meet a lot of new friends and girls, no matter how drunk you get. But it's not always that easy..

Hamac Cazíim

Director: H. Paul Moon.
Hamac Cazíim tells the story of punk rock musicians from an indigenous tribe called the Seri nation, or Comcáac, who are using music to maintain their ancestral language and culture despite a long history of colonialists, missionaries, and modernization. The Comcáac are a nomadic people who live in a place of mystic beauty along the Gulf of California, where the mountains meet the desert meet the sea. Despite this isolation, the problems of modernization—and extinction of sacred animals—threaten their indigenous identity. To fight against these dangers, the band Hamac Cazíim was formed. Converging these themes of music, tribes, and endangered species, the film delivers a tuneful meditation on the universal challenge to preserve native identity, and the power of music to stage that fight.

The film concerns the actual historical Rabbi Jehudah Loew, who Jewish legend has it fashioned a man out of clay and brought him to life through cabbalistic magic to protect the Jewish Community of 16th century Prague from annihilation. BIDESHI PHOTOSTUDIO

Director: Kurt Hoerbst / Alexandra Grill.
When wandering through rural Bangladesh with a camera in your hand the sentence „Bideshi…chobi, chobi…! – Stranger! Take a photo of me!” will soon be heard all around. An unbelievably delighted eagerness to be photographed is definitely there. When Kurt Hoerbst met and fell for the village Rudrapur and its dwellers in 2005 the idea for the project BIDESHI Photostudio was founded. People in Rudrapur live simple, agriculture and craftsmanship dominate everyday life. Family itself as the highest rated value in society, is nevertheless rarely preserved in a photograph as it would be in more western parts of the world… Technology and the arts simply are too far away or not affordable- up until… The project BIDESHI Photostudio, which started off in December 2008 after intense preparations and diligent planning by Austrian Kurt Hoerbst, first and foremost provided a welcome opportunity to earn money for the men of Rudrapur. The experienced bamboo and clay specialists constructed a simple but impressive building within a month’s work – by hand! The hut and the entire project were organised in cooperation with Dipshikha, a well-established organisation in Rudrapur. As a close neighbour to the Meti-School, which is well-renowned through various prizes in architecture, the daylight studio offered locals to be photographed professionally from the beginning of February 2009. A glass roof and light Sari-fabrics on the side walls created a soft ambience in combination with the clay ground and back wall. While project assistant Alexandra Grill took digital photos of the families, Kurt Hoerbst photographed the villagers analogue in a large format system. Single portraits in front of the even clay background of course had to be taken as well! The digital data was edited, printed and laminated the same and passed on to the curious models the next day. Surprised by their image (and often amused) they usually welcomed their photographs with great fascination.
