'Prague' comes to Cannes!
PRAGUE – ‘Men live in cities. Cities live in men too.’ This year Bombay filmmakers currently under post production with their feature film ‘PRAGUE’ (2012) are on a journey to visit the 65th Cannes Film Festival for this purple 'Prague' film’s first press bomb and their home production short titled-LEHENGA (The Skirt) being showcased at Short film corner. This East (India) meets West (Czech Republic) story is a far cry from previous Indian/West hybrids of Bollywood and commercial art. This Indian drama offers the world a new look at contemporary Indian filmmaking which includes everything from a high concept twisted love story to relentless action and an surrealistic Indian point-of-view of this mystical Eastern European city. A Summary: ‘Prague’ is a psychological thriller in Hindi, English and Czech dealing with the inner conflicts of Chandan (Kaminey fame), an architect who travels from India to Prague for a project. He is accompanied by Gulshan, who he idolizes and wants to emulate, but is strangely intimidated by. When Chandan meets the gypsy girl Elena, she inspires him to design a monument for the gypsies who died in World War II and not been given their due. She becomes the love of his life but he is unable to trust her free-spirited ways. His insecurities heighten because of Gulshan’s bossiniess. In his turmoil, the one person he can turn to is his friend Arfi (Slumdog Millionaire) who is no longer alive. ‘Prague’ is a Indian / Czech production directed by- Ashish R Shukla (creative head of Dev.D) and conceptualized by Rohit Khaitan (earlier supervising producer with NFDC, That Girl in Yellow Boots and Dev.D) produced by Rohit Khaitan's GlamourStruck Productions Pvt. Ltd. in association with Maxwell Entertainment (makers of Jail), executive produced by- Bombay Berlin Film Production & K Film Plus, Czech Republic. Production Company-GlamourStruck is an independent and multi-faceted media and entertainment company founded in 2008, with a focus on making cross over films with universal audience appeal and also engaged in high-end fashion and luxury lifestyle content development and production for diverse multinational clients in multiple platforms, including print, audio and television. **GlamorStruck also has a short film titled LEHENGA directed by Richa Srivastava being showcased at Short Film Corner- 65 Festival De Cannes. 14.05.2012 | Vanessa McMahon's blog Cat. : 'Prague' comes to Cannes! architect Ashish R Shukla Berlin Bombay Cannes Cannes CDATA Czech Republic Dev.D Elena Entertainment Entertainment Europe executive Geography of Europe Head India Indian films Prague Prague Prague Producer Production Company Richa Srivastava Rohit Khaitan's GlamourStruck Productions Pvt.
