TICFFTaiwan International Children’s Film Festival (TICFF) is a biennial event founded by Public Television Service (PTS) in 2004. It is the first film and television festival in Asia dedicated entirely to children aged 12 and under. Highlights of the festival include an international competition with cash prizes to attract the best productions for children, and “Kids as Directors” section, a project founded with the first edition of TICFF in 2004. This project provides young filmmakers in Taiwan a chance to take the lead and create their own works with assistance from professionals. Their works will be screened during the festival along with productions made by international counterparts. By hosting TICFF, PTS hopes to give the local young generation a chance to view the world from diverse perspectives. We sincerely invite you to share your great works with our young audience and join us to enjoy this great series of festival events in 2020!

PTS, the organizers of this event, are now signing up entries for this tremendous series of showings, attracting some of the finest film makers from around the world with the lure of USD 28,000 in prize money. In addition to bringing in and showing outstanding dramas, documentaries, animations and television programs, the Festival also includes an international competition that attracts the best works in children’s viewing to participate. This year the Festival introduces a new feature, a special Taiwan prize which will be awarded to the work that best represents creative work in Taiwan and exemplifies the highest standards in the industry. Hopefully this new category will inspire more film and video producers in Taiwan to work harder to turn out high quality works for children on the island. HistoryThe Taiwan International Children’s Film Festival (TICFF) was initiated in 2004 by PTS in order to broaden the international outlook of children in Taiwan and stimulate their ability to create and use their imagination. It is the only such activity in Taiwan – and indeed in all of Asia – to be designed specifically for children 12 years old or younger.
