109 films and countingLined up agains the windows are 5 boxes with color coded hanging files, submission forms, file tabs, screener rating forms and the ink on the tabs is even color coordinated. We open the mailers, we log, we verify, we create the file and place it in by category, alphabetically and by length. We screen, we rate, we argue, we re-screen, we rate, we average and we log it on the master log. We email, we facebook, we twitter...tweet...twit?...sometimes we even (gasp) pick up the actual phone and call !!!?!?!? ....and always, we keep in mind the filmmakers, the work, the sacrifices, the effort, the miles, the hours, the minutes. The families who believe in them....and the families who don't. The day jobs, the night jobs, the odd jobs...the unemployment checks. We want the best for everyone who has gone to the enormous effort of telling a story through moving images.....and we want to help them share it with the world.
