My Run an inspirational documentaryPremiere Event - March 31, 2011 By Ron Gilbert
I have been following the journey of this award-winning and critically acclaimed documentary,”MY RUN” which is coming to movie theaters nationwide for an “exclusive one night premiere event” on Thursday, March 31st at 7:00pm (Local Time).Director Tim VandeSteeg and producer Mark Castaldo and co-producer Christine Redlin (who is the voice of the Tim’s late wife) have created an awesome and touching film which has stirred audiences’ emotions in film festivals from coast to coast. Academy Award winner Billy Bob Thornton who does the narration also wrote a song which he sings in this film, Terry Hitchock had lost his wife to breast cancer and raised his 3 children on his own. So what does this father/widow do? Like any real life superdad he does the extraordinary. So Terry at the age of 57 ran from St. Paul, Minnesota to Atlanta, Georgia, where the 1996 Olympics were being held, completing 75 consecutive marathons in 75 consecutive days. This powerful and uplifting documentary exemplifies a commitment to something which would seem impossible by a single dad who was not a marathon runner per se but with the love he felt for his late wife and family allowed him to push his body beyond his limits and go the distance. I would suggest bringing your family and friends and lots of tissues to dry your tears. This film unites and reveals what family is all about. Following the feature, audiences will take a deeper look into the story through Q&A and interviews with the star Terry Hitchcock and his son, support team member Chris Hitchcock. A portion of proceeds from the MY RUN Premiere event will benefit the Livestrong Foundation.
