New Media Film Festival Announces New Categories for 2011 Digital Comics, Music Videos & LGBT

The New Media Film Festival has opened the categories for their 2011 Festival to include Music Videos, Digital Comics and LGBT. The Festival is also expanding the call for sponsorships to include technology and entertainment organizations.

PRLog (Press Release)Jan 04, 2011 – The New Media Film Festival announced today that they have expanded their current list of categories to include Music Videos, Digital Comics and LGBT (Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender)entries for the 2011 event being held in Los Angeles this coming May.

With this expanded list of categories, the Festival is also invitingprospective sponsors who want to reach industry professionals, Transmedia Story Tellers, and Content Creators across Film, TV, Games, Music, Publishing, Mobile, Web and Technology. Filmmaker categories include New Media, Mobile, Web Series, Shorts, Animation, iApps, Documentaries, Features, (SRC)Socially Responsible Content, Audience Choice Awards (Online Competition for Web Series), Music Videos, LGBT and Digital Comics also projects shot in RED or in 3D and can be submitted via the website at http://www.newmediafilmfestival.com.

Deadlines for submission are as follows with additional category information available online at the festival website:
- Earlybird Deadline: January 15, 2011
- Extended Deadline: April 15, 2011

The New Media Film Festival is an IMDb qualifier festival helping filmmakers with distribution, monetization and exposure to a wider audience while being judged by top industry leaders. With over $12,000 in prizes and a wide variety of categories for filmmakers to submit to, the Festival highlights the winners in a "Best of" tour while curating their content for future reference and other opportunities. Industry support for the festival include entertainment and technology professionals from Industrial Light & Magic, Pixar, Summit Entertainment, and United Talent Agency to name a few.
