RODRIGO SANTORO, BRAULIO MANTOVANI, MARCOS BERNSTEIN: ISCHIA GLOBAL FEST LOOKS TOWARD BRAZIL AND HONORS THE CAREER OF FLORINDA BOLKAN. 

The new star of Brazilian film, Rodrigo Santoro (300), the screenwriter Braùlio Mantovani (Oscar nominee for Walter Salles’ film City of God), the director and producer Marcos Bernstein (key play in Brazil’s contemporary film culture) and actress Florinda Bolkan (special “Ischia Global’07 lifetime achievement award) will be the protagonists of the Ischia Global Film & Music Fest. The event will take place on the “Green Island” from July 10th to 15th. After being honored by the International Art Academy of Ischia, the four artists will take part in the Cinema Forum, which as in previous years, will feature exclusive talks and debates on timely themes: co-productions, co-distributions, and product-placement.

Other Brazilian personalities who have already confirmed their participation are actor Selton Mello and screenwriter Carolina Kotschoi.

“We are happy to dedicate the Ischia Global Fest 2007 to these talented Brazilian artists because they represent a concrete cultural movement that is growing day by day and now is decidedly aimed at Hollywood,” underlines Pascal Vicedomini, founder and producer of the Ischia Global Fest. In the previous four editions of the festival, the Academy dedicated great attention to cinema outside of the United States: in 2003 Bollywood, in 2004 China, in 2005 Russia, and in 2006 Germany.
