Andrea Iervolino named President of Ischia Global Film and Music Festival

It was announced today that Andrea Iervolino has been appointed President of the popular Ischia Global Film and Music Festival, which takes place July 9th – 17th on the island of Ischia, Italy – where international screen stars and industry leaders of the European, American and Italian film communities celebrate the ever-evolving culture of cinema. The Festival has established itself over the past years as one of the world’s most distinguished Summer-season film festivals – boasting an array of film premieres and screenings of the most critically acclaimed projects along with screenings of some of Italy’s greatest classics.

Serving as President, Iervolino joins a high profile festival executive and creative team that includes founder and producer, Pascal Vicedomini; Honorary Chairman, Mark Canton; Chairperson, Kerry Kennedy; Honorary President, Tony Renis; and an executive board that includes Monika Bacardi, Nicola Borrelli, Aurelio De Laurentis, Enrico Lucherini, Dorothy Canton, Dante Ferretti and Marina Cigogna.

Andrea Iervolino is one of the youngest, most dynamic and most accomplished entrepreneurs in the movie business. Since the age of 16 he has produced, financed and distributed over 60 feature films. A partner and founder of a number different film enterprises, his major focus is as co-founder and CEO of the multi-national AMBI Group, a consortium of vertically integrated film development, production, finance and distribution companies owned and operated by Andrea and Monika Bacardi.

Through AMBI, Iervolino has emerged as an industry leader and remains dedicated to making and delivering high-end, commercial movies for global audiences. The company, founded by Iervolino and Monika Bacardi in 2013, serves as a top-tier supplier of mainstream projects for both the studios and major independent distributors worldwide. Under the direction of Iervolino, AMBI has quickly emerged as one of the industry’s most prolific financing, production and sales companies with the capacity to develop, package, finance, produce and sell a broad array of films.

Among the films on AMBI’s burgeoning film slate are James Franco’s post-apocalyptic thriller “Future World”, starring Milla Jovovich, Lucy Liu, Method Man, Suki Waterhouse, Snoop Dogg, and Franco; the psychological thriller “Black Butterfly” starring Antonio Banderas and Jonathan Rhys Meyers; a remake of Christopher Nolan’s iconic film “Memento”;  “Lamborghini – The Legend,” a biopic on Lamborghini founder Ferruccio Lamborghini to be written by Bobby Moresco; the faith based children’s film “Beyond the Sun,” featuring His Holiness Pope Francis; “Septembers of Shiraz,” starring  Salma Hayek and Adrien Brody; the contemporary fairy tale “This Beautiful Fantastic” starring Jessica Brown Findlay and Tom Wilkinson; a documentary feature about Federico Fellini titled “The Man of La Dolce Vita;” James Franco’s “In Dubious Battle,” featuring an ensemble cast that includes Franco, Nat Wolff, Selena Gomez, Vincent D’Onofrio, Robert Duvall, Ed Harris, Bryan Cranston, Josh Hutcherson, Zach Braff and Sam Shepherd; the 3D CGI family animated film “Arctic Justice: Thunder Squad,” featuring the  voices of John Cleese, Alec Baldwin, James Franco, Angelica Huston and Heidi Klum; the sci-fi thriller “Rupture” starring Noomi Rapace, Michael Chiklis and Peter Stormare; and the animated feature “Groove Tails” featuring the voice of Jamie Foxx.

Prior to co-founding AMBI, Iervolino had many notable production credits early in his career including “The Merchant of Venice,” starring Al Pacino and “Machete,” starring Robert De Niro; these along with dozens more highly successful film and television productions in Italy amounted to a formidable output and reputation that has enabled him to entice many of Hollywood’s biggest names to his projects.

Of Italian-Canadian parentage, Iervolino began producing films on powerful social issues distributing into schools, thanks to the Cineschoolday initiative, for which former Italian Prime Minister and Senator for Life, Giulio Andreotti,  was a spokesperson. Multi-awarded, Iervolino’s most recent accolades include the Honor of Recognition as Ambassador of Italian Cinema in the World at the 2015 Italian Contemporary Film Festival (ICFF) and the IC Savings Award in 2016. At the 2014 Venice Film Festival he was presented with the coveted Mimmo Rotella Award for Best Producer, for his contributions to the Italian Cinema Industry.
