DMVIFF's mission is to sustainably develop, unite, discover and enrich the cinema talents in and of the DC, MD, VA and Internationally. In addition, DMVIFF includes the entire community area offering residents unique participation for inclusiveness. Providing organized information and resources related to cinema, motion pictures, emerging technologies in order to enrich and support talents by bringing them every possible advantage including potential emerging opportunities in technology, media, transportation, community and more. DMVIFF is dedicated to the talents, communities, emerging opportunities and resources of motion picture creatives in or of the District of Columbia, Maryland, Virginia and International communities.

DMVIFF: Call For Film Submissions

Calling for submissions:

All DMV (DC, MD, VA) Film makers
submit your original films to the DMV
International Film Festival

The
categories that will be featured are Shorts, Features, Animation,
Video Games, Documentary, and Music Videos.

Rules and Submission fees:

Regular Deadline: March 27, 2010 Late Deadline: April 24,
2010

Feature Films:
Reg. Deadline $50 Student fee $40 Late entry $75

Student $65

Running
time of at least 50 minutes, Feature Films that have previously
played at up to two other festivals anywhere in the world are still
eligible for one of our non-competition programs.

Documentary
Reg. Deadline $50 Student fee $40 Late entry $75

Student $65

Any
non-fiction film with a running time of at least 50 minutes, NOT
including entirely scripted or improvised fictionalizations of actual
events. Films that have previously played at up to two other
festivals anywhere in the world are still eligible for one of our
non-competition programs

Short Films Reg. Deadline $45 Student fee $35 Late Entry $50

Student fee
$40

Any
narrative or documentary film with a running time of 30 minutes or
less.

Music
Video $25 all

The
DMV Independent Music Video screening. Featuring local artist either
living in or Born in the DMV area.

The
DMVIFF will be considered a niche festival due to the ELIGIBILITY
REQUIREMENTS such as the following:

  • Feature
    films
    must not have had any public or festival screenings in the
    greater DC, MD, VA Areas (some exceptions for niche festival
    screenings)

  • Feature
    films
    and short films must not have had any commercial theatrical or
    television play in the US. Additionally features films must not have
    been broadcast on the Internet.

    Festival for consideration
