Registrations are now open for the 27th Edition of the Caminhos do Cinema Português Festival. Between the 1st of January and the 15th of September, the works for the Caminhos Selection, Essays Selection and Other Looks may be submitted via FilmFreeway. Until May 31, all national film registrations will be free.

The Caminhos do Cinema Português Festival has been, since 1988, one of the main references in the Portuguese cinematographic panorama. Presenting itself as the only festival dedicated to Portuguese cinema in all its aspects (final projects of schools of cinema, animation, documentary, short film and feature film), it shows itself as the ultimate showcase of cinematographic works that are annually produced in Portugal.

This event is the opportunity to bring together creators and viewers in a single space for artistic interaction, a place where you can follow in the first person the evolution of the national film industry.

In its 27th edition, the festival is, again, committed to recognising the importance of animation cinema as an important feature of the quality of national cinematography. This bet is projected by the introduction of the Best Portuguese Animation Essay Award. There will also be a strengthening of the cultural ties of our language with the opening of the Parallel Exhibition “Films from Lusophony”.

Considering the changes that the Covid-19 pandemic has caused to the whole cinematographic ecosystem, the festival has extended the deadline for film submissions by allowing titles excluded by measure 4.3 of the festival to be entered. Entries are now allowed for all titles produced since the end of the call for movies of the 26th edition – 15 September – that have been shown on the Video-on-Demand, Streaming, BluRay and DvD circuits or on television. We opened the event to all Portuguese national production, providing a space for the union of the arts through cinema, which is celebrated in each of our editions.

Até 31 de Maio todas as inscrições de filmes nacionais serão gratuitas.

O Festival Caminhos do Cinema Português tem sido, desde 1988, um dos principais referentes no panorama cinematográfico nacional. Apresentando-se como o único festival dedicado ao cinema português em todas as suas vertentes (projetos finais de escolas de cinema, animação, documentário, curta-metragem e longa-metragem), mostra-se como a derradeira montra das obras cinematográficas que anualmente são produzidas em Portugal.

Este evento é a oportunidade de juntar criadores e espectadores num único espaço de interacção artística, um local onde se pode acompanhar na primeira pessoa a evolução da indústria cinematográfica nacional.

Na sua 27.ª edição reiteramos a aposta do festival em reconhecer a importância do cinema de animação como um traço importante da qualidade da cinematografia nacional. Essa aposta é projectada pela introdução do Prémio Melhor Ensaio Nacional de Animação. Há ainda o reforço dos laços culturais da nossa língua com a abertura da Mostra Paralela “Filmes da Lusofonia”.

Considerando-se as alterações que a pandemia do Covid-19 provocou a todo o ecosistema cinematográfico, o festival prorrogou a data limite de inscrições de filmes permitindo que os títulos excluídos pela medida 4.3 do festival se inscrevam. São agora permitidas as inscrições a todos os títulos produzidos desde o término do call for movies da 26.ª edição – 15 de Setembro – que tenham sido exibidos nos circuitos do Video-on-Demand, Streaming, BluRay e DvD ou em televisão. Confira todos os detalhes no regulamento do festival.
