Daniel De Los Reyes
Rich Tradition, Strong Family History

San Rafael 560
Daniel de los Reyes
Sabor Records

The spirit of familia and togetherness are brought to the forefront with this dynamic release from percussionist Daniel De Los Reyes. The title of the CD comes San Rafael 560, which was the home address of the Family patriarch, Walfredo De Los Reyes in Havana Cuba.

The "De Los Reyes" family needs no introduction. For many years and generations this rich musical family has delighted fans of Latin Music and beyond. Daniel's grandfather, Walfredo De Los Reyes II, was a trumpet player and vocalist in Havana and Co-founder of the Cuban orchestra Casino de la Playa. This group used to hold their rehearsals at the noted address of the De Los Reyes Familia. Daniel's father Walfredo de los Reyes III is a highly regarded percussionist in his own right. His career has spanned over five decades with performances all over Latin America and the United States.

With this rich musical history it is no big surprise that Daniel learned at a young age the spirit and dedication needed to become a musician. This talented and awesome percussionist has already established himself as one of the world's best. Every performance he gives is filled with passion and desire, the desire to bring joy to the audience. Daniel has worked on the concert stage, music videos and national television with some of the top names in music from Jennifer Lopez, Stevie Nicks, Ricky Martin, Don Henley, Steve Winwood, Miami Sound Machine, Yanni, Cher, Phillip Bailey, Lionel Richie, Sergio Mendez among countless others.

When you listen to this delightful recording you will be treated to some classic material. Everything from Daniel's roots is here for all of us to enjoy. If you feel like getting up and dancing while this one is on....go for it! Tasty mambos, cha-cha-chas, rumbas, son, descarga and two pachangas that will get you moving. This is an exciting recording filled with so many musical treasures. In this recording Daniel has surrounded himself with a tight ensemble of performers including his Father and brothers Kamar, Rafael and Walfredo Jr.

This CD swings with a classic sound and each tune tells a story. The story being told is a fascinating one. A story of emotion, spirit and nostalgia. I highly recommend this recording. Without a doubt this CD will be remembered as a classic. I guess you can add another accolade to La Familia De Los Reyes long list of accomplishments.
