CineStory

CineStory is a national non-profit dedicated to nurturing emerging screenwriters through its mentorship programs for over fifteen years. To this end, the Semifinalists of the annual CineStory Screenwriting Awards are invited to participate in an exclusive Writer's Retreat.

ABOUT THE RETREAT
One of the main goals of the CineStory Screenwriting Awards is to select up-and-coming screenwriters for our mentorship programs. For this reason, the semifinalists of each year's competition are invited to the exclusive CineStory Writers' Retreat, a four-day intensive program held in the Fall.

Retreat attendees get three 90-minute one-on-one sessions with working Hollywood professionals. During these meetings they discuss everything from the script(s) they submitted for feedback to jump-starting their writing careers.

When not in one-on-one sessions, writers participate in "informal rooms". These interactive mentor-lead sessions cover everything from pitching like a pro to the state of filmmaking in the digital age. In addition, mentors and writers gather for meals, drinks, film screenings and other special events.

Winners of our competition have gone on to pen films such as IRON MAN, THE CHILDREN OF MEN, BALLAST, KING OF CALIFORNIA and 11:14.

CineStory mentors are all committed industry professionals and include key creative personnel behind such films as INSIDE OUT, THE DUFF, FIREWALL, FINDING NEVERLAND, BAND OF BROTHERS, THE PACIFIC, WIT, NINE LIVES, PETER PAN, EVENT HORIZON, FINAL DESTINATION and many others.
