“This film was really something that I hoped people will just connect with by seeing themselves in the characters. As human beings we generally have way more in common than we don't. However, we finger point at things that we don't have in common and harp on them. But at the end of the day we have so much...

When Ellen Page tells you she "was playing it cool on the inside" meeting with Brit Marling ("Arbitrage") and Sundance darling director Zal Batmanglij, you have to wonder what all the fuss is about.
To hear Zal tell it, "when I heard Ellen Page wanted to meet with us..." The movie in question, "The East," premiered last night in Hollywood at the ArcLight to an adoring hometown crowd, uh, hometown of Hollywood,...

Not long ago, filmmaker Evan Jackson Leong began filming content on a subject without fully knowing what he had. Although he had an idea of what the story might be, Leong kept an open mind to see what lay ahead for a heretofore unknown aspiring professional basketball player.
Then "Linsanity" happened.

The BlackStar Film Festival took place August 2-5, 2012 in Philadelphia. Its mission was to celebrate the visual and storytelling traditions of the African diaspora and to showcase film and video works by and about black people from across the globe.
Other obligations did prevent me from attending all but one event, but it was a good one - A Conversation with Ava DuVernay.
Ava DuVernay, is the first African American woman to take home the U.S. directing award at Sundance Film...

the diverse exchange of ideas crucial to developing an open society, raise
public consciousness about human rights abuses and restrictions of civil

This is an overview of my 2011 Sundance experience
For Europeans, heading to a remote mining town now ski resort and festival headquarters in Park City, Utah, tucked away in the Wasatch mountains outside of Salt Lake City, it's no simple journey. It entails careful planning several months in advance, serious budgetary calculation to secure a bed in those expensive shared- condos, and blocking extra time to your return schedule as flipping time zones wrecks havoc with your metabolism a...

High above Sundance, on the gorgeous, snow-drenched slopes of Deer Vally, Raleigh Studios, by far, threw one of the best Sundance bashes of 2011. Raleigh Studios Director of Marketing and Client Development, Michael Newport, organized the bash with Fotokem.
As guests (mostly comprised of filmmakers) entered the large, lodge-like space, they were greeted with massages, an oxygen bar, photo booth and hair extensions from Bella Via (the glittery ...

Leave it to the House of Hype LIVEStyle lounge to bring you LIVE celebrity karaoke. I went with a few friends and once Blake Lewis hit the mic with Shwayze, no one was volunteering to go next. They were an amazing duo!
Watch the video below and see what I’m talking about:
And if you were wondering - no, there was NO background music. That was ALL Blake.

Music seemed to be the artform dominating the Sundance Film Festival. I saw more musical acts perform this year than any other I’ve attended. DC Shoes, Skullcandy and Express presented A Tribe Called Quest featuring The Roots for a live performance at the World Famous HarryO’s in Park City, UT.
However, despite a first class ticket and hotel accommodations booked by director, Michael Rapaport, Q-Tip didn’t show and the gig never happened. Maybe it had something to do wi...
The Texas International Film Festival is not just any ordinary film festival. We are one of the few who offer optional feedback for submissions. We accept virtually every genre and project type in movie or script form. Our goal is to promote and inspire creativity among filmmakers and screenwriters alike, throughout the world, as well as honor various technical aspects of the film-making process. We offer lucrative prizes and awards that stand out among others. And because TIFF is IMDb-qual...
The friendly and inviting atmosphere at the Sundance Channel Headquarters made it one of my happiest places to be during the Sundance Film Festival. Festival pass holders and filmmakers who registered for the lounge were invited in for free drinks, cookies and the occasional lunch.
All sorts of people relaxed and mingled in the two floors of the lounge while live broadcasts were conducted up stairs next to the Funny Face Photo Booth where you got to dress up and take silly, photo b...
OneRepublic at the Ralph Lauren Big Pony Party, Photo by Michael Korbic
The Sundance Film Festival has become a favorite for the launch or promotion of new products. This year, Ralph Lauren introduced their newest fragrance line, “Big Pony”, with a live performance by OneRepublic at The House of Hype LiveStyle Lounge. OneRepublic rocked out in the small, packed bar of Cisero’s where the crowd went crazy at the chance to see them so up close and personal.

Anyone who visited the festival this year couldn’t help but notice the green water bottles everyone carried on them suspended by a blue carabiner. Brita, in an effort to promote environmental sustainability, provided thousands of water bottles for festival guests to fill up at their Hydration Stations.
