Insidious 4-The Last Key, review: Spectral Sightings by Psychic and her side-kicks

Insidious 4-The Last Key, review: Spectral Sightings by Psychic and her side-kicks Was a time when unfriendly ghosts used to have a motive for their haunting, and usually, it was revenge. Then, they began to exist for existence’s sake, in an alternate world, or the beyond, paranormal realm, crossing over accidentally into mother earth. Over time, they have inherited one most condemnable human trait--sadism. Once we stipulate that ghosts can exist solely with the motive of torturing hum...

Horror Trailer Festival

Have you ever watched a movie trailer and loved it only to be disappointed when you finally see the movie? Yeah, we have too. So this festival is dedicated to those great movie trailers that make us wish there was a movie. So send us your monsters, zombies, possession, and stalker trailer, we want them all.

This is not a short film festival but rather a movie trailer festival. Which means we want commercials.

The selected trailers will be screened at the historic Vista Theatre in Los Angeles

Rules & Terms

This is a trailer festival and a trailer is not a short film. It is an advertisement for a film production that may be produced and/or released in the future or a totally original idea.

We want TRAILERS that advertise everything in the horror genre.

Trailer must be 60-120 seconds in length

Focus

Director: Simon Welch.

Pierre, a retired French miner, who lives surrounded by birds and various domestic pets, describes how his life has been blighted by supernatural events. References made to ghosts parallel sequences showing industrial remains that have been preserved as memorials in the northern French landscape, thus representing traces of a recent but nonetheless bygone age.  The title of the film relates both to cinematic technique and poltergeist activity. Images of St Barbara, the patron saint of miners, refer to the religious and superstitious beliefs of men employed in dangerous conditions. The presence of caged birds recalls the use of canaries as warning systems in mines and corresponds to the fact that, wherever he goes, Pierre cannot escape forces (whether real or imaginary, psychological or socio-economic) that are not bound by geographical and physical constraints.

The Rule of Lead

Director: Giacomo Arrigoni.
Following otherworldly plans which he finds very annoying, Humphrey, the ghost of a murderer, is forced to team up with Lara, a lonely teenage girl ignored by parents and society. Unable to touch things and assume a human form that would lead to the ultimate demise of his soul, Humphrey must lead the girl to save two kidnapped children as a way to redeem himself and finally abandon Earth. The two make an unpredictable rough pair and explore the old mansion where some criminals are holding the children for their shady business. The ghost and the girl find the children and try to draw the attention of the city, but nobody listens to them: they are just invisible creatures trying to point out the existence of two invisible children. Unable to believe in himself and convinced that he is damned forever, Humphrey abandons the mission and vanishes, forcing Lara to act on her own to save the kids. But when the criminals kidnap Lara, Humphrey realizes that he must do his best to awaken the entire city and open the eyes of the people who continue to ignore the existence of the prisoners. Then, as he recalls what his alchemist father told him when he was a child, that even the most impure stone can be transformed into gold, Humphrey faces the most difficult choice of his afterlife: remaining damned forever or risking a final death by taking on human form to free the prisoners: a choice that can transform his soul from lead to gold.
