Wish I Was Here is Zach Braff's first movie since he came out with Garden State a decade ago. You might say the actor-turned-director-writer-producer has grown sentimental in his late 30s.
With his new effort, Braff has been guileless -- or manipulative -- enough to wear his heart on his sleeve. He aligns himself with a branch of family comedy that admits bodily functions and ethnic flourishes as grist for laughs, yet readily veers into pathos.
Part sitcom, part indie drama...

Over the years, I'd had it. Having worked/volunteered for film festivals for more than a decade, it became increasingly clear that a cancer had reared its ugly head. The observation I made was nothing short of sycophant society hell bent on being seen and/or canoodling with some celebrity. To me, these over-stuffed bras, deluxe Botox, label wearing women and men show up at events like ugly girls accompanied to the prom by a paid-off neighbor. Everyone knows, but no one says anything.

Muppets Most Wanted
A franchise that probably suffered due to the committee-style of film-making, Muppets Most Wanted does have its moments. At the end of it all, though, one feels that it is a case of wasted opportunities. Too many insider jokes, too many take-offs and too many guest appearances of little consequence make the eighth Muppet outing nowhere near the best.
A muppet is a cross between a marionette and a puppet, created by Jim Henson (died 1990), which lends itself to an interestin...

„Wie das Binnenmeer“ is a movie about friendship of two young men. Both grew up in a small german town near the Baltic Sea. They start a trip to another country and begin a new part of their life. The film tells the feeling of liberty while driving in a car and screaming outside the window. Looking on the sea for hours and getting the feeling to swim away. Going away without any plan and aim and just enjoying the moment. „Wie das Binnenmeer“ describes a typical story of a road-trip while using brilliant and atmospheric pictures. Because of the great soundtrack it is a pleasure to watch and hear at the same time.
