CALL FOR ENTRIES
Call for entries for the 5th Cyprus International Film Festival ends on the 31st of July 2010.
The 5th CYIFF will take place on 13-22 of October 2010 in Nicosia, Cyprus.
The CYIFF 2010 hosts the following competitive categories:
1. Feature Films –(120 minutes max. length)
2. Short Films – (up to 30 minutes max. length)
3. Films for children – (120 minutes max. length)
4. Animation Films –(120 minutes max. length)
5. Sport Films – (120 minutes max. length)
6. VIDEO ART Films – (120 minutes max. length)
7. Diaspora Cypriot cinematographers’ Films – (120 minutes max. length)
8. Documentaries – (120 minutes max. length)
9. Humanitarian – (120 minutes max. length)
10. Comedy Films – (120 minutes max. length)
11. Dance Films and VIDEO DANCE –(up to 60 minutes max. length)

CONCEPT AND AWARDS
CIFF offers to new directors from all over the world the opportunity to present their work in front of a VIP jury committee from the international film industry and sector.
The Festival also aims to make Cyprus an international meeting point for film production and film-making, to develop the opportunity of cooperation with the local production companies and to create special tourist interest during the “off season”. The CYIFF awards offer film reels, equipment and facilities to the awarded film directors and directors of photography to shoot their next film in Cyprus.
PAST FESTIVALS
The previous organisations 2006-2009 of CYIFF started vigorously with the presentation of more than 130 films each year, selected from over than 61 countries. Important film premieres took place in CYIFF 2009 such as “Taking Woodstock” by Ang Lee.
SATELLITE EVENTS FOR CYIFF
Satellite Activities and Cultural Events will be part of the Festival.
Educational satellite activities include seminars and workshops relative to the Film Industry.
