Artemis Motion Pictures announces the first ever film festival dedicated to honoring female driven action films, the women who pioneered them, the women who contributed to the success of the genre, and the undiscovered talent of the future.
Why are we doing this?
Female action films have made over $2billion (US) since 2012, have a devoted following and some of the best action in movies, yet have not recieved the respect and accolades that are warrented by that kind of market devotion and following.
Female action stars of the past have never recieved their due. The female action heroes of the present are dismissed. And what of the action women of the future? Where will they get their platform to show their strength?
Women who kick ass have not been appreciated.
We're going to change that.
