Roy Dames is a documentary filmmaker since 1987 especialized in social issues related subjects with a strong human interest approach. In this sense the filmmaker is attracted to extreme subjects, such as 'the proces of dying' (in his series 'On the edge of life'), 'crime' (several films, his latest 'Wrong friends' in which he followed his criminal friends during 16 years) and 'hard to discuss in society subjects' (such as 'Mocros' this year, in which he following Moroccan Dutch youngsters from 2003 upto 2010 during the increasing tension between immigrants and original Dutch people). He made many series, singles financed by television and recently also for the cinema.
