Film synopsis:
Thirteen years after the Armenian city of Leninakan was destroyed in an earthquake, Loussiné, a 13 year old orphan lives with her grandfather in a "domik" – a prefabricated small house. She is dumb, but a talented pianist. To prepare for an international competition, the Ministry of Culture lends her a beautiful piano. But when the instrument is delivered, it’s clear that the trailer where they live is too small to hold a piano…

Invitation to Cinetopia film festival

Dear Levon

My name is Hanna Sköld, and I’d like to invite you to submit Le Piano to Cinetopia festival. Cinetopia is a participatory festival, with a completely new local/global concept. We will screen films at independent locations all over the world at the same time during one week.

Cinemas, cultural institutions, libraries and private homes anywhere in the world will become hosts for the festival during one week in september. The hosts choose films from www.cinetopia.cc, sell tickets and organize the screenings.

The income from tickets sold is automatically split between the host and the filmmaker.

We are filmmakers ourselves with roots in the independent film industry, and our goal is to create a more open, collaborating and transparent festival and film distribution system. No competitions and no gatekeepers. Just collaboration and sharing.

This is the second year the festival is arranged. Last year it was called Nordic Creative Commons film festival, and 60 different events took part throughout Europe, with 260 screenings.

We would love to have your film as part of the festival. Please have a look at www.cintetopia.cc, and submit Le Piano to the festival.

I am looking forward to hear from you, and don’t hesitate to contact me at hanna@cinetopia.cc if you have questions.

All the best, Hanna Sköld
