About La noche amarilla
The yellow night comes as part of a trilogy of short films about the Inevitable. In each film this theme is studied in different viewpoints. In the case of The yellow night, the inevitable doesn´t comes to the lives of the characters as something external, coming from nowhere to change their lives. Here what is irremediable is born in themselves, from their inner lives and circumstances. Ismael and Teresa fight against this. Personally, this struggle is what interests me more, because it is through this fight that human beings discover who we really are.
Another motivation behind The yellow night, beside the theme, is the intention to make a work with low budget but with good quality that comes from the heart of everyone who wanted to join the project. I think we are living in convoluted and complicated times, in which it is increasingly difficult to make films or any art, so we start with the idea of making a film, a humble one, with few resources, and that really belongs to our times. And it is from this position that we plan to talk about something that seems like a luxury today. That is love.
