Martin Scorsese Masterclass in Cannes

Sylvia Toy

Still, SadbrickantfarmI am an independent filmmaker and video artist. I am interested in filmmaking, writing and self-distribution.

Still, Queen

I am an actor trained as a visual artist. I create video art/microcinema that crosses genre into nonlinear narrative. A lot of my work is autobiographical, dealing with psychosis.

The Appearance

My movies are “solo productions” for the most part, composed primarily of scenes improvised directly on camera.

Ave Maria

My specialty as an actor is performing multiple characters.

Still, The Blue Lady

I am an actor & video performance artist trained as a visual artist, playwright & videographer. My work is primarily short, existential nonlinear drama.

My BA is in Art and English. I studied playwriting for 10 years. I studied acting with Luis Oropeza, Sharon Walton, Shelton Studios & Studio A.C.T. I studied voice for 1 year with Selma Toy & for 3 years with Dr. Lee Strawn. My professional videography training was by Darrell Holdaway, internships & the American Guild of Court Videographers certification program.

She moves like only old dancers move in spite of her obvious mental disturbances, i.e., paranoia, mumbling to herself etc. The grace of that well trained body carries her quite magically through the crowds of workers of whom she seems so afraid. Art seems to be in her blood stream, in every single cell of her body and happening all the time even though she's not in a pracice room or on stage due to sheer muscle memory of making art.
