About the Director:

I started making short student films when I joined AFDA film school in Johannesburg in 2007. I have made my mark at that school by being nominated each year for best film. In 2009 my graduation film, 'Vryheid', was nominated for 11 awards at the school. 'Vryheid' which is Afrikaans for Freedom won 2 awards: The Audience Award and Best Costume, Make-up and Styling. I am now working on my honours 24min film to be released in November 2010. For the first time in my life I feel that I am in a position to help South Africa overcome any obstacle. People change their opinions and the way they see the world through watching films. My purpose is to pull people together from all cultures of South Africa with the dream of making films that will benefit South Africa and support it no matter what obstacles we as a nation may face, together.
