Maria is one of the director/performers of Chapter Theatre based in Cork City, Ireland. Before the Car Arrives is her first film as director, the film has been screened at a film festival in Dublin (Darklight) and received much praise for its very realistic look at a family preparing for a big event in their daughters young life.

Film synopsis: 
Everyone is just waking on the morning of Cecily's big day, she will make her first holy communion but with everyone else so busy in the house, will she be ready on time? Before The Car Arrives is a one shot, fly on the wall look at the chaos in an average house in Ireland as they prepare for their daughters holy communion. The film was rehearsed and choreographed with painstaking accuracy to achieve its extremely realistic look.
