Zookastar is a hybrid 4 day event set in London from 31st October to 3rd November 2013 dedicated to all things filmic.  Our site is being built under the iconic Battersea Power Station.  We have collector's fairs, auctions, signings, 3 x cinemas, interactive workshops, feature film launches, film and music video making competitions, and animation special events with Aardman Animations.  The event is spread across 7 zones; Bollywood, Horror, Movie Production, Action Adventure, Toys & Robots, Costumes & props and Comics & Popular Culture.

We are having special guests daily; confimed to date are Asia Argento, Aardman Animations, The Lost Picture Show, Cosprop,  Straight 8, Bloody Cuts, Vidoepia, British Action Academy, London Sunt School, BAFTA winning production designers and costumiers and many more names to announce over the coming months.

We have TWO competitions running at Zookastar:

SHORT FILM COMPETITION

GENERAL INFORMATION

Zookastar is a new festival celebrating all things brilliant about film and related media.  Held across 7 zones, the festival looks at film production, new talent, animation, studio launches and more.  3 cinemas will programme a wide variety of films, with the Short Film Competition shortlisted entrants’ films being shown, and the announcement of the overall winner at the festival by one of our special guests and a prize of US $500 for the oevrall winner.

WHAT CAN YOU SUBMIT

Zookastar are calling for entries of short films lasting no more than 30 minutes.  Entries must be in English or subtitled in English.  Genres acceptable are Action, Adaptation, Adventure, Animation, Art-house, Asian, Black, Black Comedy, Bollywood, Children, Comedy, Crime, Drama, Fantasy, Hindi, Horror, Science Fiction and Thriller

SUBMISSION DEADLINES

The submission process is open from 1st June 2013. The closing date for submissions for Zookastar 2013 is 12th August 2013.

SUBMISSION FORMAT

Submissions can only be accepted on DVDs. Format PAL. We do not return screeners.

ENTRY FEE

There is no entry fee.

IF YOUR FILM IS ACCEPTED….

If your feature is accepted you must be able to supply a 35mm print, DCP or Blu-ray disc. No other projection formats are accepted.  All projection materials must be in London ten days prior to the festival.

MUSIC VIDEO COMPETITION

GENERAL INFORMATION

In association with GeneroTV we are holding a competition to make the officla music video for Tricky's new track 'Hey Love'.

WHAT CAN YOU SUBMIT
This is a huge opportunity to not only make the official music video for Tricky's new track "Hey Love", but to also get your work in front of a highly acclaimed judging panel, and have your video screened at a special event as part of the Zookastar festival.
The creative direction is completely open - let this track speak to you and then get creative! Tricky will chose the overall winner, and the panel will chose the runner up.


SUBMISSION DEADLINES
The closing date for submissions 2013 is 8th August 2013.


SUBMISSION FORMAT
Submissions on-line via the Genero.TV portal. Sign up to Genero to receive all related media to start production.


ENTRY FEE
There is no entry fee. The winner will receive $3,000 with one runner up receiving $1,000. Outstanding videos will also be nominated for the 2013 Genero Awards.
