Film Festival on issue-based cinema inviting entries
India's premier competitive Film Festival on issue-based cinema is inviting entries:
• Entries are open for the 4th annual edition of Woodpecker International Film Festival
• Last date for submission is June 15, 2016.
New Delhi, April 07, 2016: Woodpecker International Film Festival (WIFF) has announced the Call for Entries for their 4th annual edition to be organised in New Delhi. The Festival is known for its focus on issue-based cinema and has emerged as a popular platform to showcase the work of independent filmmakers. The festival's competitive section is open for both Indian and foreign filmmakers. In addition, the festival will also screen award winning films from several important film festivals.
According to Mr. Narender Yadav, Founder Director, WIFF, “We look at the festival as a mission to promote issue-based cinema globally and explore the power of storytelling through films to create a better world. In its 4th edition we have introduced a new thematic area “Films on Disability”. In total WIFF-2016 will showcase documentaries, short films and social advertisements on 13 contemporary themes.”

For the 2016 festival entries are invited in the following categories:
Environment, Forest & Wildlife, Livelihoods, Animation, Children Film, Art and Culture, Films on North East India, Gender, Films on Disability, CSR Films, Student Films, Health and Sanitation and PSAs.
Selection Process and Deadline:
Entry Form along with Entry Guidelines is available on the festival website www.woodpeckerfilmfestival.in. Deadline for submission is June 15, 2016. Official Selections for this year’s festival will be announced in the month of August. The selections will be made by a 15-member Selection Committee.
Woodpecker Awards
Woodpecker Awards are aimed to inspire creativity and recognize the talent of filmmakers who are focusing on alternative ways of filmmaking and experimenting with new ideas and issues. Winners in each category will be given a Woodpecker trophy, citation along with a cash award during a gala Award Ceremony.

Woodpecker International Film Festival (WIFF) is India’s one of the most respected film festivals focusing on documentaries and short films.
