The Who Likes Short Shorts Film Festival

The “Who Likes Short Shorts?” Film Festival is a filmmaker’s dream! Started in 2010 by producers Jack Diamond and Chase Weston the event has steadily grown to host sold out screenings and boast an international repertoire of film submissions and winners. The festival is now accepting short film submissions through May 12, 2012 and charges NO FEE to submit a film. More information and submission details are available at www.welikeshortshorts.com.

The festival will once again be held at the Post Theater at Fort Douglas in Salt Lake City, Utah. This year big changes are in store for WLSS: it will become a yearly event as opposed to the biannual schedule it has followed previously. The 2012 festival will feature two days of events including an exclusive Utah Filmmaker’s Meet n’ Greet, live panel discussion, and best-of-screening leading up to the official Spring Screening on June 2. More details will be announced soon so get your cameras rolling and get ready for a great year in film!

Unlike other Utah film festivals that charge exorbitant fees and take place in the dead of winter, ours happens during short shorts weather and there is no entry fee to submit a film. The “Who Likes Short Shorts?” Film Festival is an international festival that focuses on local independent fans and filmmakers.

Visit our website at www.welikeshortshorts.com and use our easy registration process to submit your short film. We are already preparing for another great event  in Salt Lake City, Utah. Don’t be left out!Frustrated by the often sluggish progress of submitting films for screening, Jack Diamond and Chase Weston set out to facilitate a more efficient, industry-friendly way of getting the product to the people. The result was a proposal to stage a biannual film festival that would feature short films from local Utah filmmakers. The festival is an internaltional festival and charges no fees for submission.

The "Who Likes Short Shorts?" Film Festival is held at The Post Theatre in Fort Douglas (294 Fort Douglas Blvd., Salt Lake City, UT 84112). In addition to a night of great shorts, giveaways, and film awards, WLSS screens all of the films in high definition! WLSS has received the endorsement of the Utah Film Commission, visit www.welikeshortshorts.com for more information.
