Overview

The International
Children's Media Center (ICMC) is dedicated to promoting media literacy and
engagement for children growing up in a modern, screen-filled age. The ICMC
curates and produces a number of festivals and events including:

 

BAMKids Film
Festival 2012 – Now in its 14th year the BKFF sells out 3-4 weeks in advance at
the prestigious Brooklyn Academy of Music. The BKFF attracts NY Times press and
eight thousand children in two days! Shorts and features for ages 2-11.
February 2-5

 

ICFilmFest 2011-2012
– This unique festival will bring international short films to underserved
schools throughout Chicago and the Midwest. Includes screenings in ICMC media
education programs. Ages 2-14.

 

My First Media – A
multi-week program of select short films screened with curriculum for
preschools, elementary schools. Ages 2-9.

 

History

In 1975 our
Executive Director co-Founded Facets Multimedia 
and the Chicago International Children's Film Festival and served as
Artistic Director there until 2009 before starting the ICMC in January 2010.

Entries

Open to the public -
Films may be submitted electronically if you can provide a full copy online to
download and view in its entirety.

Please Indicate if
children were the primary filmmakers.

 

Eligibility:

Completion of an
entry form available through icmediacenter@gmail.com is necessary for each
individual film submission.

 

Formats:

If accepted, you
will need to provide a 35mm print (necessary for all feature films) or a high
quality DVD NTSC of your film together with promotional photos at 300 DPI or
higher.

 

Fees:

Free before June 1st

$60 per short (under
40 minutes) and $100 per feature
