NociCortinfestival will take place in August in a lovely small town in the south of Italy. This is the eighth edition and we confirm our commitment to promote short films in Italy.

The competition

Films of the following categories will be considered for selection:

Short: Short of every genre with a distinctive attitude to tell short stories in an original way. All films entered into the competition must have been produced after January 1st, 2011, and must be no more than 30 minutes in length. Films already screened at other film events are welcomed.

Horror: any horror short produced after January 1st, 2011, with a maximum running time of 30 minutes.

Animation: any Animation short produced after January 1st, 2011, with a maximum running time of 30 minutes.

Erotic: any erotic short produced after January 1st, 2011, with a maximum running time of 30 minutes.

Awards

All the short films submitted in the categories stated above in the “The competition” section will be eligible to be awarded the following prizes, by the Nocicortinfestival jury

Premio NociCortinfestival - Best short film Prize: 1000 Euros

Premio “Città di Noci” - awarded to a short film chosen by the audience Prize: 500 Euros

Premio Studenti - awarded to a short film chosen by students from local high schools

Special Hollyshorts prize - an exceptional opportunity for film makers competing in NociCortinfestival 2013, made possible by our collaboration this year with Hollyshorts, one of the American film Industry's premier short-film festivals, held annually in Hollywood, California. Delagates from Hollyshorts will be choose a selection of the films submitted to NociCortinfestival to be screened this August at the 2013 Hollyshorts festival in Los Angeles. From this selection the American jury panel will choose one winner who will have the chance to travel to Hollywood and present their film to the American public. Travel and accommodations will be provided by the Nocicinema Association.
