Janet RoseThe International Wildlife Film Festival is the premier venue for wildlife filmmaking and filmmakers. It is an annual gathering unlike any other where film, television, new media, science and conservation converge. Often called the Sundance of the wildlife film genre, IWFF was the first film festival of its kind in the world. Today, it has the distinction of being the longest running wildlife film festival, attracting nearly 10,000 people each year. We invite you to be a part of this important event in 2009. As an international film and conservation media center for filmmakers, broadcasters, scientists, educators, and students, IWFF provides a unique opportunity for the sharing of ideas and the development of proactive projects that impact what happens to our planet. IWFF is a unique opportunity to engage public audiences, to learn about trends in filmmaking - technology, cinematography and wildlife production as well as to participate in dynamic seminars and workshops that focus on wildlife, conservation and the natural world. The International Wildlife Film Festival is both a Filmmaker's Festival, as one of the most important wildlife film events in the world and a Community festival for Missoula and all of Montana. "The Filmmakers' Festival," often called "the Sundance of the wildlife film genre," is known worldwide for its welcoming atmosphere, as a learning and networking opportunity for filmmakers, and for providing a venue that enables conservation and film projects to flourish in an intimate and creative environment.
