The Image Gazer Film Festival 2011

Press Release

The 2nd Annual Image Gazer Film Festival (IGFF) will be held June 16 - June 19 Throughout DownEast, Maine.

Thank you for answering the call to join us for the 2nd Image Gazer Film Festival,

IGFF is seeking film in the following categories: Features, Documentaries, Shorts, Experimental and Student Projects.

IGFF is proud to contribute to the vibrant creative community in one of the country’s most breathtaking locales, DownEast Maine, and specifically around, the Blue Hill Peninsula. For four days films will be shown from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Every day, the Festival will be hosted by a major area theatre. IGFF will kick off in Stonington at the Stonington Opera House down in Deer Isle; Day Two will be at The New Surry Theatre in Blue Hill; Day Three is hosted by the Alamo Theatre in Bucksport and The Finale will be in Ellsworth at The Grand Theatre.

During the four days of IGFF, audiences will have the opportunity to not only view these films, but to participate in Discussion Forums with the Filmmakers who will be there to not only promote their films, but to generate a lively exchange of the unique aspects of film as an art form. This will give the Filmmakers an intimate forum to voice their unique vision.

In addition to the Film Screenings and Discussion Forums, there will be Special Performances by area Musicians and Performance Artists. For those who enjoy taking in a film under the stars, the Student Films will be showing one night on a large, blowup screen at the Blue Hill Town Park. This event will have something for everyone to enjoy, so please submit your films. We invite you to make IGFF, DownEast, The Blue Hill Peninsula, and Ellsworth the heart and soul of Maine’s cultural and arts scene.

Registration Starts June 16 at 3:00pm at The Stonington Opera House

Registration will be open through all Days of the event at every Featured Theatre.

~ 4 Day Badge Pass: $30

~ 1 Day Badge Pass: $15
