Chicago International Children`s Film Festival (CICFF)Chicago International Children's Film Festival Facets’ Chicago International Children’s Film Festival is the largest festival of film for children and youth programming 250 of the best, new films for ages 2-18, from around the world. The Festival welcomes thousands and features hand-on filmmaking workshops and post-screening Q&A’s with dozens of filmmakers and celebrities. 31st annual Festival Dates: October 24-November 2, 2014 Facets Multi-Media is a nonprofit film arts organization dedicated to the exhibition, distribution & education of foreign, independent & classic cinema. Programs include: Facets Cinematheque, Facets Rentals, Facets Film School, Facets DVD label and Facets Children + Youth which organizes Facets’ Chicago International Children’s Film Festival, Facets Kids Film Camp, and year-round screenings & workshops for schools groups & families. The mission of the Chicago International Children's Film Festival is to set an internationally recognized standard of excellence in film and television production for children. It is further our mission to support the work of talented and dedicated filmmakers by showcasing films of the highest quality, providing a professional forum through which their work may gain increased distribution and access to wider audiences. The Festival is also committed to engaging young viewers with positive media images and to using media as a tool to stimulate critical thinking through discussion and hands-on workshops. The Festival screens animated and live action, feature and short films for children and youth ages 2-16, with dozens of prizes awarded from Adult, Youth, and Children's Juries. The Festival operates a small but dynamic market for programmers and distributors and is a major source of programming for other children’s film events worldwide. |
