Brooklyn Arts CouncilScene: Brooklyn is the cornerstone of Brooklyn Arts Council's film activities, showcasing the tremendous and diverse film talent based in Brooklyn and bringing independent Brooklyn filmmakers together with new audiences. This evolving program includes the flagship May screening and discussion series featuring Brooklyn independent filmmakers; special screenings and discussions in partnership with local film/media organizations throughout the year; professional development seminars for filmmakers and film/media organizations; and filmmaker meet-ups and social gatherings. In addition, BAC supports the creation of film and media art by awarding grants to over 15 Brooklyn film and media artists each year, promoting film and media artists and organizations though its online registry and directory, and providing artists with fiscal sponsorship.
