This is a two-day festival. Submissions are divided into four categories: high school student; college student; adult amateur, and adult pro. Entries should be no longer than 30 minutes in length.

The Smogdance Film Festival has grown with more audience and filmmaker participation.
Our goal is to provide a venue for emerging filmmakers both locally and around the world. Prizes for Best Student and non-student for Animation, Comedy and Open/Exp.
Accepting entries in all categories, including Animation, Short Drama, Experimental, Feature, Documentary, Outdoor, Commercial, Audio and Scriptwriting. Official Selections and past favorites will be shown at the Courtyard Gallery and other Asheville, NC venues. *Deadline for 2012 is March 31st (postmarked) and April 30th extended deadline (postmarked).Last Deadline is May 15th (received)
Festival takes place in the River Arts District of Asheville, NC at the Phil Mechanics Building, 109 Robets, May 25th, 26th and 27th.
