Tribeca Festival continues on into Day 6 with premieres, conversations and more -- including the premiere screenings of Bernstein’s Wall, Do Not Hesitate and Dr. Death, which saw a cast reunion on the red carpet.  Here are some of the highlights:

New York icon Fran Lebowitz introduced the world premiere screening of the film Bernstein’s Wall at The Battery. The documentary takes a look at one of the greatest classical music figures of the 20th century, Leonard Bernstein. Bernstein’s daughters Nina and Jamie attended to show their support, as well as Katie Holmes who was spotted in the audience enjoying the film. Director Douglas Tirola, Producer Susan Bedusa, Executive Producers Michael Bloom, Maria Zuckerman and Ryan Heller also attended the premiere.

Christian Slater, Joshua Jackson, Anna Sophia Robb, Hubert Pont-Du Jour, Grace Gummer, and Patrick Macmanus were all in attendance at tonight’s world premiere screening of Peacock’s upcoming limited series, Dr. Death. The cast, who had not seen each other since shooting, hugged each other on the red carpet and repeatedly welcomed back the excited group of photographers who were covering the event.

Director/writer/producer Josh Swade, producer/editor Chris McGlynn, producer Jennifer Albanese, executive producers Rebecca Teitel and Tribeca’s own Loren Hammonds, associate producer Tono Radvany, and cinematographer Jasper Cicero were on hand for this evening’s screening of Ricky Powell: The Individualist at Brookfield Place. The documentary profiles Powell, a street photographer who captured the downtown New York scene of the 80s and 90s, including some of the wildest moments in New York fashion, music, and art. Tribeca co-founder and CEO Jane Rosenthal introduced Swade, who introduced the film, calling the late Powell “the realest person I’ve ever met...he would give you the shirt off his back every time.”

Bernadette Wegenstein, Annette Porter, Marin Alsop, John Benam and Tong Zhang were all in attendance at tonight’s world premiere of The Conductor. Celebrating their ode to artistry, energy, and classical concerts around the world, Alsop, Porter and Wegenstein came together for an exclusive conversation about the need to empower and elevate female conductors.

Ty Roberts, Vinessa Shaw and Houston Hill were all in attendance for tonight’s New York Premiere of 12 Mighty Orphans at Brooklyn CommonsStarring Luke Wilson and Martin Sheen, the film tells the incredible true story of the Mighty Mites - a Fort Worth orphanage’s football team that went from playing without shoes to playing for the Texas state championships.

This evening’s world premiere of Do Not Hesitate had Spencer Bogaert, Joes Brauers, Shariff Korver and Tobias Kersloot in attendance at Hudson YardsThe film, highlighting a story of three Dutch soldiers nearly alone in a Middle Eastern desert, serves as both an incisive psychological study and a chilling parable.

Tribeca Shorts alum, director Levan Koguashvili, returns to the festival with Brighton 4th, a sensitively rendered story of survival. Koguashvili and his cast -- Ima Gachechiladze, Tsutsa Kapanadxe, Yuri Zur, Irakly Kavsadze were on hand for this evening’s screening at MetroCommons, Brooklyn.

The 2020 Official Selections in Features -- Jacinta and She Paradise saw their New York premieres. Jacinta is a documentary that follows three generations of women struggling to find stability amid years of dependency. She Paradise is about Sparkle, a naive 17-year-old girl navigating a thrilling yet sinister world that revolves around nightlife and cash, all led by misogyny.

Today’s shorts, Art and Soul celebrated music and dance that soothe the soul.  At the end of today’s program, part of the Resistance Revival chorus, a collective of more than 70 women and non-binary singers, gave an outstanding performance and had the audience clapping their hands together in rythme.

Spring Studios saw a series preview of the Apple TV+ podcast on the most famous magician duo in, Siegfried and Roy. Emmy Award-winning filmmaker Steven Leckart was joined by Executive Producer Will Malnati, for a conversation with author Brianna Holt on the new podcast that examines pop culture icons.
