The Film Festival Doctor's Services

How the Service Works

Festivals are great events to attend and get your film screened, as a successful festival run is often an essential first step in proving the film’s worth.

It may even win an award and/or, most importantly, get picked up by a sales agent. It is very beneficial to attend festivals, as they are the perfect places to network, attend workshops/seminars and understand how they operate.

Festival audiences contain some of the most appreciative, challenging and knowledgeable viewers.

I welcome applications from every film genre worldwide, including children’s, animation, gay & lesbian, 3D, documentary, foreign language, alternative and absolutely anything else.

Breakdown of Service

  • N.B. A different process applies to feature films. Please contact me for further details.
  • You send me a DVD copy of your film, CD of your press materials, (if applicable), and a completed Application Form.
  • If your film is festival viable, we can then begin working together.
  • Firstly, I need to work on your film’s ‘festival strategy’; therefore we have a discussion primarily focusing upon what your main goals, aims and objectives are.
  • I then begin researching the most appropriate festivals to submit your film to, whilst keeping in mind your festival fee budget and not to over-expose the film.
  • I then email you two documents:-
  1. A list of festivals that I, (a) strongly recommend and, (b) recommend we submit your film to (including reasons why the festival is beneficial, costs, festival dates and when submissions open).
  2. A 100-500 word long synopsis of your film for approval and suggestions.
  • When you have decided which festivals you wish to submit to, I invoice you for as much money as is required to cover festival and postage fees. As soon as calls for submissions have been announced, and festival fee payment has been received, I submit your film, whilst always keeping you regularly informed of its progress.
  • If, and when, your film has been accepted into a festival, I will liaise with the festival determining their needs, including how they want the film delivered and when they need it by.
  • I then inform you of what the festival requires as well as providing you with the festival point of contact’s details.
  • The good news is then announced via the company’s news feed.
