Martin Scorsese Masterclass in Cannes

The Long Wait to see the Stars!

As each day rolls on I notice just how early people arrive at the red carpet for each premiere. The Da Vinci Code premiere started filling up around 2:00pm when the "stars" weren't even scheduled to arrive until 6:30-7:00pm. And I have to admit, I was right there in the mix with them. There's something about the energy in the air at a premiere. Everyone is excited to see their favorite celebrities in person...even if it is only a fleeting glance. They say Hollywood is magic...and I believe it now even more so. Where else can you see the entire cast from a movie you've been dying to see? The anticipation is visible on every face! It's so exciting!

I met this one group of girls who had been waiting for hours to get just the right spot to see the Da Vinci Code premiere. They were tired and a little hot from standing in the sun, but the excitement on their faces couldn't be masked. I guess that's one of the things Cannes is all about...getting to be a part of the magic!
