RIFF: Second list of films released

Rajasthan International Film Festival : Second list of films released; check our previous release

Somendra Harsh, Director and Founder of the Rajasthan International Film Festival (RIFF), today released the second list of films to be screened at the event, which takes place in the state capital, Jaipur, during January 19-23.

The films include:

  • TV Actor Ashish Sharma (of Rajasthan) starrer Khejdi, by Rachita Films, about a transgender person, Directed by Rohit Dwivedi
  • Short film Gadhedo, by Jai Sharma

  • Anindya Chatterjee's French feature film, La Patrie (Homeland)
  • Shivanandam M.’s Kannada feature film, Halmidi
  • Student Short film, One Day, Directed by Deepak Sharma and Saksham Bajpai
  • S. Nallamuthu and National Geographic’s Documentary Film, about the legendary and longest-surviving tigress of Rajashtan’s Ranthambore National Park, for nine long years, Meet Machli: The World’s Most Famous Tiger, part of National Panorama
  • Sanjay Mishra-starrer, Hindi feature film, Turtle, of Shivaaja Films, on the water crisis in Rajasthan

  • The short film, First Diwali (Pehli Diwali: Har Saal), by Siddharth Sikka, starring Harshad Arora, Saiba Sikka and Amit Behl
  • Marathi feature film, Bala--Small Boy
  • Satish Chandwani's Sindhi feature film, Tuheenje Pyaar Mai
  • Surjo Prithibike Prodokkhin Kore (The Sun Goes Around The Earth ), Bengali Feature Film, by Arjit Biswas
  • Directed by Raj Mirza, and Rotary Club, Jaipur Citizen produced, short film, Why Not
  • Directed by Sanjoy Nag, and Produced by Platoon One Films, Feature Film, Yours Truly, starring Soni Razdan, Pankaj Tripathi, Aahana Kumra and Mahesh Bhatt, in a special appearance
  • Kannada movie Hebbett Ramakka, Directed by Najunde Gowda
  • Documentary film Village of a Lesser God, Directed by Ananth Mahadevan  
  • Short film Firdaws, written and directed by Mayur Puri, and starring Rahul Bhat, Paula McGlynn and Shahnawaz Pradhan
  • Essaar Media’s, The Ruffian, English short film, produced and directed by Major Sajeev
  • Sanjay Mohapatra produced, Hindi short film, The Last Supper and 
  • A Kashmir-based film, by Yoodlee Films, Hamid, Directed by Aijaz Khan, starring Rasika Dugal, Vikas Kumar and Talha Arshad Reshi.

Siraj Syed is a film-critic since 1970 and a Former President of the Freelance Film Journalists' Combine of India.

He is the India Correspondent of FilmFestivals.com and a member of FIPRESCI, the international Federation of Film Critics, Munich, Germany

Siraj Syed has contributed over 1,015 articles on cinema, international film festivals, conventions, exhibitions, etc., most recently, at IFFI (Goa), MIFF (Mumbai), MFF/MAMI (Mumbai) and CommunicAsia (Singapore). He often edits film festival daily bulletins.

He is also an actor and a dubbing artiste. Further, he has been teaching media, acting and dubbing at over 30 institutes in India and Singapore, since 1984.
